Antalya Metropolitan Municipality has the following authorities and responsibilities about social services according to the Metropolitan Municipality Law 5216:
To operate health services, hospitals, mobile health units and to execute any kind of social and cultural services for adults, disabled people, women, young people and children,
To erect social institutes, to open vocational and skill enhancement courses
To determine cemetery areas, to establish, to operate, to employ others to operate them, to provide burial services.

Social service encumbrances of metropolitan municipality for various types of the community are effectively performed by careful planning of Social Services Branch Directorate in harmony with other units and in coordination with volunteers and voluntary organizations under the following headings:
social donations
services for the disabled, elderly, children, women and in general sense the community
Marriage Affairs

Marriage ceremonies of local and foreign couples, applying to the Antalya Metropolitan Municipality , are carried out by municipality Marriage Office. In 2004 marriage ceremonies of 1178 local couples were performed and registered by Antalya Metropolitan Municipality Marriage Office. In addition, marriage ceremonies of 170 couples (woman: foreign, man: Turkish),52 couples (Woman: Turkish Man: Foreign) and 11 couples (both foreign) were also performed.

Cemetery Services

Upkeep, cleaning, repair of 46 cemeteries and finding new cemetery areas and arranging them as cemeteries and works related with death are carried out by Cemetery Branch Directorate.
